About

Remote Control plugin for Winamp allows you to control Winamp from your IR remote control. You can see all the information about the current track or playlist in a full screen, add songs to playlist, browse for them on your HDD or CD, control playback and volume, switch on/off the screensaver, monitor, even shut down computer, using any IR remote control, e.g. from a TV or an amplifier.

Plugin requires Winamp version 2.4 or higher. It also requires screen resolution at least 800x600. You can still use the plugin with 640x480, but some text (the tips under every field in visualization window) will be unreadable.
Plugin is compatible with WinLIRC. WinLIRC is a small program that receives commands from IR receiver, and decodes them. WinLIRC is distributed for free, and you can download it from the original site: http://winlirc.sourceforge.net. WinLIRC requires an IR receiver, which can be easily made if you don't have one. All the schemes and instructions can be found at http://winlirc.sourceforge.net. Plugin is also compatible with other IR receiving hardware and software.
